Autumn-winter 2026
Maison Michel, the winter collection has arrived
The boxes are open, the shapes are out of their tissue paper. Maison Michel's new autumn-winter 2026 collection has just landed at Le Shop 17, and it changes register: after the straws of summer, here come wool felt, merino knit and brims that actually shelter you from the wind.
For this season, the Parisian hat house speaks of « beauty as a universal language » and an affirmation of self. In store, it translates quite simply: hats you want to wear, not just to look at.
If you are discovering the brand, we told its story, its three workshops and its arrival on rue Notre-Dame in our article on Maison Michel, Parisian hat-making since 1936. Here, we are talking about what has just arrived.
What this collection is about
Every winter, Priscilla Royer, creative director of the house since 2015, picks a common thread. For autumn-winter 2026, it is colour and make-up that form the foundation: shades of skin, blush and kohl, transposed into felt. Hence a palette running from warm beige to deep brown, with black as punctuation.
The shapes remain the ones that make the Maison Michel signature: the wide-brimmed fedora, the beret, the bucket hat. Classics, but reworked in the detail, a suede-effect ribbon here, a line of vinyl there, a string of pearls laid on felt. That is what we love about this house: the shape is timeless, the finish never entirely is.
The pieces that have just arrived
Here are the models we chose for Cannes this winter, each one handmade in the house's Paris workshops at le 19M.
Virginie, the beige felt fedora
Maison Michel's absolute best-seller, in its winter version. Warm beige wool felt, a wide 8 cm brim, a curved crown and that asymmetric crescent crease that makes it recognisable among a thousand. It is belted with a suede-effect ribbon, tone on tone. Virginie works with a camel coat as well as with black leather, and that is precisely why we never tire of it.
Lauren, the fedora with pearls
A historic shape of the house, brought up to date. Dark brown wool felt, a 9 cm brim, and in place of the ribbon a string of pearls in mother-of-pearl and mineral stone running around the crown. This is the evening hat, the one you wear with a fluid dress or a tuxedo. Only one piece has arrived in store.
Giulia, the black beret
The Parisian beret, couture version. Black wool felt, immaculate finishing, and a fine line of black vinyl underlining the edge. From a distance it is a beret. Up close, you see the difference. It is worn tilted, with a polo neck, and it keeps you warm, which is no bad thing in Cannes in January when the mistral decides to pay a visit.
Pablo, the knit bucket hat
The softest piece of the selection, and the most accessible. A bucket hat in 100% merino wool knit, beige, supple and plush, which slips into a coat pocket and springs back into shape. The weekend hat, for walks along the Croisette when the sun is out but the air still bites a little.

How to choose your winter hat
Felt is not chosen the way straw is. It is more structured, it holds its shape, and it sits lower on the forehead. Three simple markers. A wide-brimmed fedora lengthens a round face and softens a strong jawline. A beret suits almost everyone, it all comes down to the tilt. A knit bucket hat forgives everything and wears like a beanie.
And the rule does not change from one season to the next: a hat is chosen on the head, never on a screen. Maison Michel sizes run from S (56) to L (60), but two people with the same size do not wear the same shape. Trying them on remains the only judge, and the team is there for exactly that.
