What to Wear During MIPCOM in Cannes
Four days of business meetings at the Palais des Festivals, followed each evening by networking cocktails and dinners on the Croisette: here is how to put together a capsule suitcase that goes the distance, from the first badge check in the morning to the last drink at night.
MIPCOM takes place from October 12 to 15, 2026, at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes. This international audiovisual content market brings together producers, broadcasters, streaming platforms, and distributors every year, all there to negotiate, present their catalogs, and sign the next series and films that will reach our screens.
Unlike a film festival, MIPCOM is first and foremost a business trade show: the days are filled with ten- to thirty-minute meetings, booths, panels, and screenings, before shifting in the late afternoon toward networking cocktails, delegation dinners, and evening events organized by platforms and studios on the terraces of the Croisette.
Over four consecutive days, the challenge is therefore not to multiply outfits but to build a capsule wardrobe: a few strong pieces, easy to recombine, that move effortlessly from an air-conditioned meeting room to an evening terrace. To help prepare for your stay, also see our guide on the wardrobe for a week-long trade show in Cannes, which follows very similar principles.
The MIPCOM Dress Code, Day by Day
During the Day: The Meeting Wardrobe
The MIPCOM badge is best worn with a business-chic wardrobe rather than a strict suit: a structured blazer over a fluid shirt, straight-leg trousers, or a midi skirt. Choose fabrics that do not wrinkle between meetings and neutral colors (black, camel, light gray, off-white) that are easy to layer from one day to the next. A comfortable pair of shoes is essential: between the Palais, the booths, and the hotels along the Croisette, the days add up to kilometers of walking.
In the Evening: From Blazer to Cocktail
For networking cocktails and dinners, there is no need to change everything: it is often enough to lighten the day's base look. A blazer swapped for a dressier jacket, a plain shirt dress worn on its own, a day bag traded for a structured clutch, and a few extra pieces of jewelry are enough to make the transition from the office to the terrace, without heading back to the hotel to change completely.
The Logic of the Capsule Suitcase
For four days, plan on two blazers, two or three plain shirts or tops, one versatile day-to-evening dress, and two bags: a structured bag for the day and a clutch for the evening. Combined with one another, these few pieces are enough to create eight different outfits without ever repeating the exact same look.
